Our Process & What to Expect
Working with a photographer shouldn’t feel like hiring a vendor – it should feel like a part of the day you’re excited about! We are the one vendor you spend the whole day with, and we’ll ensure you’re taken care of every step of the way!
Step 1:
Inquire
You hear about us from a colleague, you see us hustlin’ at your friend’s wedding or you stumble upon our Instagram and like what you’re seeing. You send us an email and we set up a time to chat.
Step 2:
Let's Chat
We get to know each other and talk about your upcoming big day! This helps us better understand how to serve you. We answer any initial questions you may have. (Don’t worry introverts, we’re promise not to be overly excited or pushy at all!)
Step 3:
Booked
You decide you want to book us and we’re internally screaming (or maybe externally, who knows!). We send over an invoice and contract and you sign. You pay 50% of your total fee to save your date and start planning your special day!
Step 4:
Planning
We’ll continue to check up on you to ask how you’re doing. We begin planning your complimentary engagement shoot as a way to get to know each even better before your big day. Feel free to send us any poses, photos or styles you’re digging.
Step 5:
The Final Prep
About 2-3 months before your big day, we’ll take you out to coffee (or lunch) to finalize your wedding details so we’re all on the same page.
Step 6:
Wedding Day!
The day is finally here! You get married, we take your photos. We all have a blast and you spend the rest of your life with your best friend. (P.S. there’s a good chance Blanca will cry during your ceremony.)
Step 7:
Sneak Peek
We know you can’t wait to see your photos, so the same night as your wedding we’ll send you a couple photos as a sneak peek. Social media is important and we know you’ll want to shout from the rooftops that you’re married! We don’t want you to use blurry phone pics, so we got you!
Step 8:
Your Gallery is Ready!
The final gallery of edited images and/or highlight video will arrive 3-4 weeks after your wedding date. We’ll email and text you when they’re ready. Cue the happy tears and laughs! We’ll also mail you a thank you card and a custom engraved USB drive for safekeeping.
We’re the Perfect Fit If:
You want beautiful photos and videos that capture authentic moments and emotions.
No overly posed awkward photos here! We’ll make sure to capture your wedding day as it felt, all emotions included! We want your families to be able to look back at your wedding photos and videos and relive the day right there with you, for generations to come.
You want a timeless style that’ll never go out of style.
Our signature style is clean, crisp, timeless and true to color with a touch of warmth. We’ll never add overly complicated filters that’ll make your photos look fake and dated 5, 15, or 30 years from now.
You want to be stress free on your big day.
We believe in hard work and honesty. We’re always early and always have a back up for the back up. We’ll climb trees, step into the ocean, lay in mud and do whatever it takes to get the perfect shots for you. All you have to do is relax and enjoy the best day of your life.
Bonus: Your parents or grandparents primarily speak Spanish.
Your Spanish speaking family will love Blanca! She’s a native Spanish speaker and is a hit with parents, grandparents and tío’s y tía’s that can chat and joke with her. Relaxed and happy people = better photos!
Frequently Asked Questions
Here you’ll find questions we get asked often, but if you’re looking for a step by step guide on what to expect when you book us, we encourage you to check our experience page first. We also always encourage you to contact us with your questions!
How would you describe your style?
Our signature style is clean, crisp, timeless and true to color with a touch of warmth. We never add overly complicated filters or presets that make things look weird and fake. But every wedding and couple is different. If you’re looking for a particular style, we should talk about that during your free consultation.
How many photos do you take?
We never count, but on average, we deliver about 350-550 fully edited photos for most weddings, and about 350 fully edited photos for elopements and micro-weddings. But every wedding is unique and unlike the other, so amounts may vary.
Do you edit the photos?
Yes, it’s something we pride ourselves on. Each photograph is individually edited for light, color, exposure, sharpness and white balance. We also do light retouching on any photos that may need it.
What equipment do you use?
We use the best equipment and gear we can get, and we always, always bring backups. Right now, we’re shooting all Nikon. Along with cameras, we also bring strobes, lights, filters and even a drone for aerial shots!
Do you charge for travel or multiple locations?
If your wedding is more than 30 miles from Orange County, CA, reasonable travel fees may apply, but every wedding is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. We shoot in L.A. county for no additional fee.
How do we book you and what’s your payment plan?
To secure your wedding date in our calendar, we require a non-refundable $500 retainer and signed contract for local weddings – which can be signed by either partner. Destination weddings require a non-refundable 50% retainer and signed contract in order to book travel arrangements. The remaining balance is due two weeks (14 days) before your wedding or event date. You may wish to make your own payment plan between booking and balance due date. We can provide receipts upon every payment.
How many weddings do you shoot a year?
We limit ourselves to about 10 weddings/events a year to give every couple an exclusive experience with care and personal attention. Every photo and/or piece of your wedding video is carefully selected, crafted and edited so you can expect quality we are proud of.
What forms of payment do you accept?
We accept cash, checks, PayPal and Venmo. We can discuss payment options upon booking or consultation. For your records, invoices and receipts are given for every payment.
What do you wear?
For formal receptions, we keep our attire professional, conservative and subtle to blend in. We wear formal and dark clothing and keep our shoes comfortable. For elopements in the outdoors, we dress for the weather and terrain – that may mean hiking boots, jackets and camelbacks.
Do you shoot LGBTQ+ couples and weddings?
ABSOLUTELY! Because we believe love is love is love. We will never, ever, ever turn away couples based on race, gender, sexual orientation, disability or nationality and refuse to work with anyone (clients or vendors) who are discriminatory in any way.
We want to sneak away to (insert your fav fast food place here), can you come with us to take photos?
UM, YES! We just ask that you let us know ahead of time so we can obtain any permits we may need.
What are your COVID-19 measures?
Keeping ourselves and our clients safe is our utmost priority. In general, we’re living in quarantine and taking this thing very seriously. We have added masks, gloves, hand sanitizer and Clorox wipes to our styling kit which we bring to every shoot and event. We are keeping our distance and routinely checking our temperatures.
Do you have liability insurance?
Yes, and we’ll be happy to provide your venue with a proof of coverage.
When will we get our pictures/video?
We know you can’t wait to see your photos. For that reason, we provide about 5 “sneak peek” photos the same night as your wedding or elopement. And even with our signature style of individually retouching and editing all of your photos, we’re proud to have a quick turnaround of about 4-5 weeks for your entire collection.
Do you need a shot list?
Rather than a shot list, we prefer to meet in person to discuss your goals and expectations. However, we do ask for a short list for your formal family photos, so we make sure no one is forgotten, and we work as efficiently as possible. Our recommendation is to keep the list relatively brief. A brief wedding-day timeline will also be very helpful, but not necessarily required.

Yes! Although we mostly showcase weddings and engagement sessions, we have a lot of experience shooting other types of celebratory events and portraits. Depending on the size, location, duration and nature of your event, it may cost less than a wedding. Please contact us for a complimentary consultation and quote.
